Glycine is widely used as a buffer for a variety of immunological applications. It is frequently used in the preparation of TG Buffers (Tris-Glycine; sc-296648) where the buffer is used as a running and/or transfer buffer for polyacrylamide gel electrophoresis and western blotting. Glycine (100 mM, pH 2.0-2.5; sc-295018) is also used as an eluent in column chromatography. Glycine has been reported for use in the enzymatic determination of lactate using lactic dehydrogenase.
